Medical Certificate Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to medical certificate phone consultations booked through Leanly. By booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms.

1. Overview

Leanly facilitates access to phone consultations with independent AHPRA-registered clinicians. Leanly itself does not provide medical or clinical services.

2. Medical Certificate Consultations

Leanly clinicians can assess requests for simple medical certificates for short-term sick leave or carer’s leave, where clinically appropriate.

Medical certificates are issued only where clinically appropriate and at the sole discretion of the consulting clinician.

Booking and paying for a consultation does not guarantee that a medical certificate will be issued.

This service is not suitable for workers compensation, Centrelink, legal, insurance, fitness-to-drive, or return-to-work clearance requests.

3. Consultation Format

Consultations are conducted by phone only. Patients must be available to receive a call during the scheduled appointment time.

Clinicians may call from a private or unknown number. Patients must ensure their phone allows private or unknown calls.

4. Patient Responsibilities

5. False or Misleading Information

Patients must not provide false, incomplete, or misleading information. If the clinician is not satisfied that a certificate is clinically appropriate, no certificate will be issued.

6. Fees

The consultation fee is payable at the time of booking.

Fees apply to the consultation itself and are payable regardless of whether a certificate is issued.

7. Refunds, Cancellations & Rescheduling

Refunds are available only where the clinician is unable to attend, a technical issue prevents the consultation from occurring, or the patient cancels with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Refunds are not available after a consultation has occurred, including where a certificate is not issued.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests within 24 hours of the appointment time are not permitted and will not be refunded.

8. No-Shows

If you do not answer the clinician’s call during the scheduled appointment time, the appointment may be treated as a no-show.

No-show appointments are non-refundable and must be rebooked and paid again.

9. Certificate Delivery

If issued, your certificate will be sent by secure email as a PDF.

Leanly is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect email addresses, patient error, email filtering, or technical issues outside Leanly’s control.

10. Suitability

Phone consultations may not be suitable for all medical concerns. The clinician may recommend in-person care, GP review, or urgent care where appropriate.

11. Emergency Care

Leanly is not an emergency service. If you have urgent or serious symptoms, call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department.

12. Conduct

Patients must communicate respectfully with clinicians and support staff. Leanly may refuse service or restrict access for abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Leanly is not liable for clinical decisions, certificate decisions, employer or institution acceptance decisions, or outcomes arising from the consultation.

14. Changes

Leanly may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
